Captain Britain Reprinted
My copy of Captain Britain: The Birth of a Legend: v. 1
arrived today. Despite the misleading title previously shown on Amazon.com (Captain Britain V.1: Birth of a Legend: UK Captain Britain V.1, No. 1-39", "Super Spider-Man No. 231", "MTU No. 65-66"), it actually reprints the CB strip from issues 1-23. It features a new cover by original artist Herb Trimpe (not the yellow cover most websites show), and introductions by the artist, and writer Chris Claremont. It is american-comic-sized (slightly reduced from the original publication), but full colour throughout. It does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, which must mean that Volume 2 is pretty much assured, right?
This volume features the first appearances of CB, along with the debut of X-Men's Psylocke. Guest stars Captain America, Nick Fury and the Red Skull! Presumably Volume 2 will reprint the remaining issues listed in the old Amazon title. With any luck, a Volume 3, featuring the classic Black Knight strip may one day see print!
Also features a cut-out mask, and a 'colour it yourself' page (I have a colourised version, which I may put up on this site at some point). Just in time to celebrate the characters 31st anniversary!
