Prime Minister features in Captain Britain comic

You may have seen the excitement in the media at Gordon Brown's appearance in Marvel's 'Captain Britain and MI13' comic. However, it's not the first time it has happened. Then-PM Jim Callaghan appeared in Marvel UK's 1977 'Captain Britain' weekly comic, in a rollicking escapade, teaming up with Captain America against the Red Skull. (Appearing first in #20, before making the cover in #23, and escaping to freedom in #25.)

I'm too young to remember that particular politician, but the story certainly portrays him as a confident figure in the face of adversity - He declines the company of Captain America when escaping from the Red Skull's base, preferring to make his own way to safety, so the Captains can confront the Fuhrer-loving lobster-hued villain together.
